Our Story

Our story began in 2022 as The McGuire Foundation, a simple idea born around a kitchen table: what if local kids could be the ones leading the way in caring for their neighbors? We started with children‑led drives and sorting events, rallying families to collect essentials for 15 local charities and showing young volunteers that their small hands could make a big difference. As our impact grew, we evolved into S.E.R.V.E – powered by The McGuire Foundation – to center the work on community initiatives rather than any one individual.

S.E.R.V.E stands for Support. Empower. Resource. Volunteer. Engage. Our mission is to create stigma‑free experiences for under‑resourced children and families in Waukesha County, especially Lake Country, while opening the door to meaningful volunteer opportunities for kids and adults alike.

Today, we continue filling gaps for local partners and schools, and we also run cornerstone programs like the Free Back‑to‑School Carnival, Free Christmas Market, and Summer Nourish Program—inviting our whole community to serve, together, all year long.
